Aeme

Settled at the Western point of entry to the Cunab Gulf, Aeme was initially settled as a watch station for shipping. As trade from Isfa to Aurdia continued to accelerate, bringing new cultures, people, and goods, a watch station was erected to ensure safe passage. The shores of Aeme are riddled with jagged rocks and shallow depths. The watch station was first built upon the coastline where attendants would warn the sailors that the were drawing too near to the shores. However, eager sailors would incorrectly receive the message and promptly sail toward Aeme. This inspired the watch station to be moved out into the waters. Stone from Dabal was carried from the mountain to construct the watch station. Now, the watchmen could warn sailors to the deadly waters. This history earned Aeme the alternative title of "The Hail".

Demographics

Predominantly composed of retired Isfan sailors who became the watchmen, this village is dominated by their families. Carrying a population of only two-hundred and ninety-one at the time of writing, this makes up generations of descendents that have resettled into the village. The population is largely stagnant as many settlers elect to move onward to Dabal. While Aeme does not carry much trade, the wealth distribution is largely equal with few exceptions.

Government

Aeme is a protectorate of Isfa that is governed by a local magistrate that has taken charge of the watch station. While the magistrate has left the general government of the village to the chosen chief of the village, the magistrate can enforce rulings as they see fit. As the presence of the magistrate is constant, requiring a constant presence and watchmen to guard the mouth of the Cunab gulf, the chief of the village will speak with the magistrate offering updates to the conditions of the town. As many are retired veterans or children of retired veterans, the system is effective. However, for those travelers looking for a new settlement, the rigid behavior, the government, and the overzealous obsession with the watch station of the people is unfamiliar and unwelcoming.

Defences

Within Dabal is a unit of guards set at watch at the watch station. These are train soldiers from Isfa that provide reasonable defense to the city. The small unit is supported by the local militia. Aeme also had a sea wall built from stones. The sea wall was constructed using the continued delivery of stones to for the construction of the watch station. The small wall is largely symbolic and is represents much of the pride of the people of Aeme.

Industry & Trade

While Aeme does little in terms of local trade, the village supports itself through hunting, fishing, and ranching. Due to the presence of the magistrate and the soldiers, the citizens of Aeme receive a silver piece for the diligence in the protection of the Holy Seat of Order. This reinforces their vigor and pride in the watch station.

Infrastructure

As stone was used in the construction of the watch station, most of the other buildings within Aeme have used a similar approach. Additionally, the strong winds carried from the dark horizons and the ocean midst require sturdy foundations.
