The Eternal Kings

The Eternal Kings were a trio of ancient undead rulers, headed by Casictus Ordius, with his two close allies, Demaentus Galvanis and Labrax Iustus. Long since defeated and sealed away in ancient tombs, this Triarchy once ruled over the entirety of Amion for longer than the kingdoms have existed. While record of them is long faded from living memory and all but erased from written history, there exist a few around the kingdoms with the knowledge of the Kings, and the belief the three will rise again once more to reclaim their old world.

History

The Eternal Kings were once human lords, heads of three families that made up part of the monarchic democracy that ruled Amion. Casictus Ordius and his two closest allies, unhappy with being looked over as kings, took power in a violent coup during an event now known as the Scarlet Coronation. Ordius spearheaded the coup that saw himself and his two close compatriots installed as the sole triarchy over Amion. Renaming his family's city Imperatum, Casictus took it as his seat of power, while his general, Demaentus Galvanis, chose his ancestral home of Mistcliff. Casictus' lieutenant, the scholar and battlemage Labrax Iustus, took the central city of Kyath Ennore. The trio ruled for over two thousand years before their ultimate downfall. Two of the families the triarchs deposed, the Gaillards and Tocurias, were the staunchest holdouts against the rule of the Eternal Kings. While they did eventually succumb, their hatred never wavered and it was they who orchestrated the rulers' end. With assistance from many, including members of Casictus' own court, they defeated the liches and, unable to destroy them fully, sealed them away in hidden tombs, sealing them away with powerful wards and guardians.

Disbandment
