Veins of Rhohammer

The Veins of Rhohammer are a revered magical stone that has only been found in two known locations in the world of Amerielle. The first was in the mountains west of Uhl-Kante Planes and the city of Eld. The Veins in the mountains have been entirely depleted and so the only remaining source of Rhohammer is found in Eld.
The stone is a dark purple with nearly no reflective surfaces, however, it does give off an ethereal glow and canyons even with the smallest amount of Rhohammer are often magically lit with a purple hue. The stone, before it is refined tends to be brittle making the mining of the ore as a labour intensive process and only can be done by the most skilled dwarves. There is a continued fear that when the ore is gone that there will be no more in the world. This is why the settlement of Eld was taken back after years of being controlled by gnolls and drugar.
The Dwarves of Amerielle hold the stone as precious and holy stone that cannot be used in anything other than weapons and armour for the Paladins of Rho, a group of Dwarvish Paladins who travel through the underdark hunting and destroying the Dyltoth, a race of undead Drugar who haunt the outskirts of Dwarvish settlements.
Weapons crafted with this material are more adept at fighting undeath. They radiate a natural aura, one blessed by the Dwarf God Rho who despises the unnatural and the corrupted. The armour made with this stone in it has been able to withstand necrotic energies with relative ease.

History & Usage

Discovery

It was discovered by Paladin Ugrh Stonebroken, a dwarf Paladin of Ghro who lead him to the west to a vein of the metal. When he was beset by undead Ghro insturcted Ugrh to put the stone in his mouth and with the taste of metal in his mouth he was able to defeat the undead hoard highhandedly. He founded the order of Ghro which has protected the stone for millennia.
