Marston
Marston is a medium-sized village home to various hunters due to the abundant and varied wildlife that live and roam the dense forests that surround it. A single difficult-to-traverse trail leads to it that branches off from the Northern Trail, taking travelers through windy hills and a brief wetland. Merchants and collectors of animal goods make the trek multiple times per year.
Demographics
Predominantly humans, dwarves, and halflings.
Government
One mayor and a round-table consisting of the village's best hunters and savvy merchants who regulate the trade that goes on within its borders.
The mayor is a female half-elf named Tarci Greenleaf (42 years old) who also serves as the village's central advice-giver on the hunting and trapping activities for the villagers.
Defences
One sheriff, two deputies, and three-dozen town guards that enforce the law. In times of need, the village's hunters and trappers come together to stave off threats or track down criminals.
The village has no walls, instead preferring to use the cover of the forest trees. It does, however, have moats, fences, and a few watchtowers.
The sheriff is a male human named Morsco Wright, 38 years old.
Morsco's two deputies are a male human named Tarvissel Wide-Ears, 31 years old, and a female dwarf named Stania Big-Arrow, 72 years old.
Industry & Trade
Many inhabitants of Marston are hunters and trappers, making use of the various animal parts from the healthy wild life population. Those who aren't specifically skilled at killing wild game remain in the village to skin them, remove their teeth and nails, and otherwise harvest useful parts from their bodies.
In addition to the wild life products, Marston is home to a handful of medicinal and curative stores that some would call herbalists. Their products are created from the local flora.
Infrastructure
Roads to separate the village districts, bridges to cross the two rivers that run through it, an inn for visitors, two taprooms open to all, and various stores that specialize in animal parts (particularly fur) and medicinal ingredients from the forest. Homes are built from logs taken from the forest, though larger structures are reinforced with stone imported from elsewhere.
Assets
An inn named The Wolves Den. It has eight rooms for rent and offers breakfast with a night's stay. Individual meals are available as well. All prices are above average.
Two taprooms: Spirits of the Land and Margerette's Tavern. Spirits of the Land specializes in harder drinks made from imported goods, while Margarette's Tavern offers basic drinks, but a cozier atmosphere. Both offer meals at average prices.
A hunter's supply store named The Hunter's Eye. Though they specialize in hunting equipment, they sell common weapons and general goods.
An herbalist supply store named Nature's Sweets.
A general blacksmith named Tali's Hammer. They are the town's sole source of maintenance on structures and vehicles with metal parts, and the source of arrowheads, bear traps, daggers, and other metal hunting equipment.
Geography
Marston is situated in a forested area at the base of a large hill. Travelers must cross windy hills and wetlands to reach it.
Natural Resources
Wood, food, and medicine from the forests, water from the river, wool from the sheep in the hills. A large farm that spans the northen end of the village supplies a majority of food as well.
