Hide from BoogeyMan

"Who is afraid of the Boogey Man?"
Hide from BoogeyMan is a Hide and Seek game based on the stories of the BoogeyMan. Children ages 6 to 18 play this type of game if they want to play Hide and Seek with a scarier mechanism.

History

In 1932, Claustrophobia have been around for a while, and the fear of the BoogeyMan spread like wildfire. Children grew fearful of the BoogeyMan, and their siblings have begun to use the fear as a way to tease their scared brothers and sisters. This developed the game in 1965 called Hide from BoogeyMan. This was a game made for those who wanted to have more of a reason to hide, other than hiding from the seeker.

Execution

There are no limit to who can play, other than there has to be more than 1 player playing. Say for example, there are 8 kids, and 1 of them is the Boogey Man.

Alternative #1

  • The oldest player will become the "Boogey Man" while everyone else is the "Children". The Boogey Man will be dressed in black, preferably a coat or cloak.
  • The Boogey Man will count to any number between 10-100, and the Children will go and hide.
  • As the children are hidden, the Boogey Man will announce they're looking by saying "Who is afraid of the Boogey Man?".
  • When they find a person, the Boogey Man will hug them as if he is taking them away and say "Seven Children are hiding from the Boogey Man, who is afraid?"
  • The game will end either if the Boogey Man finds all of the kids, and says "All Children have been found and taken away by the Boogey Man!" or if the Boogey Man gives up, the remaining children will come out of hiding and shout "I'm not afraid of the Boogey Man!"

Alternative #2

Everything is the same, except the children will play in the dark.

Alternative #3

In this version, this will be similar to Alternative #2, but there's a twist. The Children will be hiding in the dark, but each will have a flashlight.
  • To make the game longer, when the Boogey Man finds a player, the player can choose to either be out of the game, or turn on the flashlight and say "I've escaped the Boogey Man, But he will find me again!", and be allowed to hide in a different area.
  • When that happens, The Boogey Man will cover his eyes as if he was blinded by the flashlight and count to ten. The Boogey Man will then repeat "Eight Children are hiding from the Boogey Man. Who is Afraid?" and continue to look. This is a way for the BM to keep track of the players he's found.
  • If there is a cheater in the game, The children can choose to either let the child play, or turn on their flashlight, and point in the direction of the cheating player and say "Boogey Man, Let me hide again, for I will give you a child who is bad!"

Components and tools

In all versions of the game, the Boogey Man will wear a black coat/cloak.   In Version 3, the Children will each have a flashlight.
