  Here are listed the various races of mortals that populate Amanor. The term mortal refers to any and all sapient and civilized species of the Universe that have a life-cycle that progresses with time. As such, mortals stand clearly apart from eternals -- whose bodies do not age, making them, in a way, immortal -- and beasts -- non-sapient creatures possessed of only low levels of intelligence.   Exceptions to the classifications described above do exist, but by and large it can be said that mortals or mortalkind are the civilized species of creatures that populate the world in endless numbers, forging a comfortable existence for themselves and a legacy for their kingdoms and empires, being born and living and dying in such intervals of time that are mere instants to ancient cosmic entities.
