Goddess of Pain

Hygemene is the Goddess of Pain and Goddess of Aid. She is the patron of healers, doctors, physicians, nurses and indeed anyone that seeks to ease the suffering of others.
Religious texts state that Hygemene is trapped in eternal torment, forever assailed by forces of burden and adversity that inflict unbearable torment on her body and mind. In civilized cultures she is seen as a bringer of ease and comfort to those in pain -- a benevolent goddess that seeks the company of tormented mortals, taking away their pain and blessing the work of healers and doctors. In more exotic and foreign lands she is the embodiment of torture and the bringer of suffering, being worshipped only by madmen.
