Amon-Shikaar Character in Amanor | World Anvil

Amon-Shikaar

God of winter and the hunt

Amon-Shikaar is the God of Winter. He is the bringer of snow, the freezing cold, the falling of leaves and the lay of autumn, the dismal darkness of the moonless night and the biting midwinter wind. Some cultures see Amon-Shikaar as a savage and primal deity that plagues mortals with the merciless season of winter and blesses predatory animals such as wolves that harry the populace. Other cultures, however, regard Amon-Shikaar as the embodiment of survival and the triumph of mortals against the elements. He is worshipped by peoples of hunter-gatherers, communities in arctic regions, rangers, druids and even assassins.   Amon-Shikaar is typically depicted either in the bestial form of an avian predator or as a humanoid woodsman clothed in furs and hunting gear and with some animal companion at this side (hunting hounds, wolves and hawks typically).
