Just as Jandreau was finishing up talking the Umoya healer, Binintre felt a odd shiver run down his back and unwillingly his hackles rose up. He looked around at the other healers and saw something in Anahita’s eyes that told him she was feeling this same sensation. He felt his tail twitch and his vision went blurry, and then black. A voice suddenly boomed in his head and it felt like the ground was shaking. What is going on?’He panicked and tried to move, but he couldn’t. The voice that was pounding his head spoke a series of words that were clear as day and frightened his so much he thought he was shaking. “As snow grows around the mountains

and cold winds grasp the land in serrated claws

the four forces of death will emerge

and show the cats of the island how to fall

One from the coastline, with conquest on their mind

One from the forest, with whom famine dines

One of the sky, who knows only the lust of war

And one of the flame and fire, who will swallow us back into the earth once more

Then the heat will come with the summer sun

Until even the water burns red with fury

The earth will split and the skies will rumble

Until blood is split and the tribes have crumbled.”
He saw visions of fire and destruction. Of cats starving to death and war. He looked down and blood was washing over his feet like the waves of the ocean. ______________________________________________________________________________ Drosera was just about to speak when the healers started their chanting. He looked down at them and listened. Amaryllis was sitting right next to the healers. The Izitshalo apprentice, Mila, walked around his mentor anxiously.
"Lurinda?" he mewed softly. "What's going on? What are you saying?" Amaryllis stepped over to him and whispered in his ear.
"Quiet. Listen to what they're saying. They're talking about something big happening. Something bad."
Isiqu watched the healers with a shocked expression. She only dared to speak when they had gone silent and started to shake their heads groggily, and even then, only in a whisper. "It's like a vision, isn't it? Just the one you had, Lokni. It's about cats from all the tribes. All... four." ______________________________________________________________________________ The crowd stirred with whispers, but slowly grew louder as fear built up. Monroe called out to the gathering, "Everyone stay calm, everything will be explained shortly." And with that, he flew down to the healers. "Was that a prophecy..?" Anahita fearfully chirped to Ara. None of her other visions were that strong, and none of her other visions had ever forced words out of her mouth. She leaned into Ara for comfort and her mentor wrapped a wing around her.
"Yes," Ara answered grimly. She didn't know where to start, and the pressure of all the tribes watching them didn't help.

Plot points/Scenes

1. Beginning: Characters meet and our introduced into the story-line. The Tribes are introduced and the system of the governments is laid out.
2. Middle: Characters bond and form relationships. Prophecy is revealed and tension builds in the tribes. Shisa is revealed and smaller battle occur.
3. End: The tribes battle with Shisa and the end battle happens, where Shula dies and the tribe re-unite with each other in peace. The characters deal with the battle and outcomes of it.
4. Epilogue: A little bit into the future, shows the characters in their new or same homes, settling down and in peace.

Structure

Exposition

• The Gatherings, and the meetings afterwards.
• Time in camps following: Lokni, Shasta, Gabal, Miaca, Briny, Ripley, Dover, Amaryllis, Isiqu, and the Shisa cats.
• Flashbacks to the parents of the main characters (ex. Thulani, Monroe...)

Conflict

• The Prophecy that is given by the healers to the tribes, from the gods. This causes the tribes to question who in there tribe is the cursed plague cat who is destined to kill them all. Trust is broken inside the tribes when accusations are thrown around.

• The fire that destroys almost the entire forest in Izitshalo land. Umoya lets them stay in their winter camp, but as winter comes and the threat of starvation and avalanches approaches, tensions rise and battles break out.
• Shisa is rising up again, and they want revenge. Eventually they will start battles and try to destroy the other tribes.

Rising Action

• The prophecy is revealed and the tribes go into chaos trying to figure out who is the plague cat in their tribe.
• The fire roars through the Izitshalo forest and they move into Umoya's winter camp, causing Umoyan cats to be upset and angry with their leadership and start battles with the Izishalo cats. And, Jandreau is forced to declare war on an already weak tribe to keep his leadership and please his cats.

Climax

The big final battle between all four tribes occurs, similar to the original battle that wiped out Shisa tribe. Umoya takes Shisa's side and they fight Amanzi and Izitshalo. Many cats die, including the Umholi of Shisa, Shula. Blaise starts a fire, and as it burns around the battling cats, the four plague cats are killed/die by different causes.

Falling Action

Once Shula is dead, and the Plague cats, the tribes can unite in peace again, and with new Umholi's, they come together and agree to peace with Shisa and end the battle once and for all. Shisa is given their territory back and all tribes agree to cats being able to choose where they'd like to live. The main characters deal with the end of the battle, and the cats who have died.

Resolution

The tribes settle out and the main characters choose where they want to live and settle down with the cats they love. They have brought peace to the tribes and the plague cats are no longer around to cause harm. They deal with mourning and their new leaderships, but overall everyone is contempt and peaceful.

• The fire burns the forest, and encourages the battles that are going to happen, and Lokni and Isiqu's relationship.
• It was revealed that Lokni is half-tribe, which will in outcome in her finding out Rain is her father.

Stakes

• The Shisa cats who are in WOU are the enemy and have to choose btween fighting for their tribe or not.
• The Umoya cats worry about their own tribe, but also have to think about their friends tribe, Izitshalo.
• What will cats do if they find out their loved ones are the plague cat?

Moral Quandaries

• Defeat Shisa or not, because they have the right to be on the island and have a home like any other tribe, but they also are causing havoc and killing cats from the three main tribes.
• Umoya need to stay safe from the avalanche and not starve, but by taking their winter camp back that would put Izitshalo at risk, is it worth it?
• If they find out a cat they love is a plague cat, will they abandon the relationship/friendship or will they continue to be in that cats life, even though they are cursed?

Past Events

Originally a group of cats with wings settled on the island and soon separated into four different tribes depending on what areas the cats felt most comfortable in, or what suited them best. Umoya settled in the tops of the mountains, Amanzi by the ocean, Izitshalo in the forest and Shisa in the rocky alpine below Umoya. But, when the tribes began to grow in size, they split into two groups, Umoya and Shisa and Izitshalo and Amanzi. They started a way over territory, because they needed to expand there land so cats wouldn't starve. But, when Umoya saw that their alliance was losing the battles and becoming less powerful, they switched sides to the other alliance, and the three tribes asked Shisa to leave, but they refused, which caused a mass extinction of the Shisa cats. The remaining cats fled the area and hid in the caves below Umoya territory, and hundred of years later, they built up their tribe again, and are ready for a rematch.
