Wild Mushroom Soup
This hearty soup is a staple in many areas due to its simplicity and ease of preparation. Travellers prefer to make this over other meals because they can forage and hunt for most of what they need. Farmers tend to include seasonal vegetables, effectively changing the flavour every time. However it is made, this soup is sure to be enjoyed by many, be it around a campfire under the stars or around a table with family, friends, and even strangers. It's usually paired with a good beer and a good tale.
If using meat, roast on a spit until meat tears away easily. Alternatively, boil the meat in the cauldron until tender. Put meat aside once ready and dump the water. Roughly chop mushrooms and carrots (if using). Place mushrooms and carrots in cauldron placed over strong embers. Add butter and fry the vegetables until soft. Add in meat if using. Add the flour, stirring it in slowly. Add the goat's milk and continue stirring until the soup has thickened. Season with herbs of choice. Serve in bowls while still hot. Season with herbs of choice.
