Elvish Elemental Ritual

The Elves have a dance that is rarely performed. It is the changing of the elemental season. There is no set date for it, they follow no guidelines, and the element coming to the forefront is somewhat unknown until the ritual. This ritual is unknown to the outside world as the Elves have always kept this a secret. The Dance of the Elements begins with all the Elves together, all the elements in perfect harmony and time. As the dance continues, two of the elements fade into the background with those Elves bowing out. The two elements remaining continue dancing in harmony. These two are the element fading and the element coming into power. Eventually, the fading element and the Elves representing it take a bow leaving only the new element in the dance. These Elves continue dancing, their movements becoming faster until a surge of power goes through the area. The Elvish city changes to the colours of the new element.

The ritual is done and the new elemental season begins.

History

No one remembers when it began or how it came into being. The ritual has not changed since the beginning. Each new elemental season brings something with it. For example, the Season of the Earth brings about bountiful harvests. The Season of Fire brings with it discord and strife.

Execution

It's a ritualistic dance representing all element. The City changes colour depending on the element in power.

Blues for Water

Reds / Oranges for Fire

Greys / Whites for Air

Greens / Browns for Earth

Items used are those representing the elements.

Participants

All Elves are there. They all dance together until only one group of elves remain in the dance.

Observance

There is no set date for this ritual. The Elves sense a change in the air and the Elves whose element is coming to the forefront begin to feel the effects.
