Gods of Order

These deities invariably cover some facet of civilization, even if they also handle natural phenomena. Broken away from a primordial or primordials who sought patterns, distinctions, laws, civilizations, building and crafting, and the idea of purity. Areas under the purview of these deities tend to be linked to white mana, and are generally of a Lawful or Good bent.   Philosophies along these lines stress honoring tradition, working for a just and prosperous society (even if at the expense of individuality). Confucianism and many teachings of Hinduism are good examples.   Gods   Týr - God of War and Law, the Even Handed. Domains: Knowledge, Order, War, Solidarity Týr is, first and foremost, a creature of Justice. The sacrifice of his arm to Fenrir made legal the deal the gods struck and prevented it from becoming cowardly trickery. War is nothing but the imposition and execution of law, as war itself is often a decision. He leans heavily towards Lawful Neutral.   Tou Mu - Goddess of the North Star and Celestial Wisdom. Domains: Arcana, Knowledge, Light A prominent goddess, Tou Mu brings light, knowledge, and protection to her followers. She is a benevolent deity favored by wizards and bards for the most part, and sages as well. She leans Lawful Good.   Lakshmi - Goddess of Wealth and Self-Knowledge. Domains: Knowledge, Life, Nature A goddess of good fortune and wealth, Lakshmi is commonly minted on coins, and is especially favored by merchants with sound business sense. “Fortune favors the prepared” and other such wisdom is common among her followers, and she leans Lawful Neutral.   Ogun - God of Iron, Warriors, and the Hunt. Domains: Forge, Order, War, Zeal Ogun was a king who cleared the way for other gods using an iron sword, and when his followers broke the law, he executed them and himself. In the afterlife he grew significantly wiser, but as a god, he is still straightforward and aggressive. He leans Lawful Evil, though he is not malicious.   Aulë - God of Stone and Metal, Father of the Dwarves. Domains: Forge, Knowledge, Life Aulë created the dwarves, legend stating that he defied the Great Mother in doing so, but couldn’t bring himself to smite them when the dwarves recoiled before his hammer. Showing compassion for his compassion, the Great Mother forgave Aulë, and he became the patron and principal deity of the dwarves from then on. He leans Lawful Good.   Amaterasu - Okami, the Mother of Heaven. Domains: Knowledge, Life, Light, Order Mother of the kami in Rokugan and source of all civilization, Amaterasu has great appeal outside of Rokugan as well. It is she who educated her son Hantei on how to defeat his father and free his siblings, and she is invoked by paladins around the world, and has quite a following among halflings. She leans Lawful Good.   August Personage of Jade - The Transcendent. Domains: Arcana, Light, Order, War The god of many aspects and supreme ruler of Heaven, the August Personage is but one facet of divinity to great for mortals to comprehend, This aspect is especially celebrated by the elves of the Song Dynasty. He leans Lawful Neutral.   Nephthys - The Lady of the Temple. Domains: Grave, Knowledge, Life Serving as a guardian for the dead, Nephthys is also knowledgeable in temple rituals and healing techniques. Many clerics offer a prayer to her regardless of their affiliation, as she is the model cleric. She leans Lawful Good.   Yen-Wang-Yeh - The Judge, Collector of the Dead. Domains: Knowledge, Light, War Yen-Wang-Yeh is the assigned judge of the deceased in the Song Dynasty, and is often invoked by others, particularly those who travel to the Shadowfell seeking answers. He has a burning hatred of undead, whom he sees as defying the Celestial Order. He often sends mighty champions against undead, and helps directly against the most potent. He leans Lawful Neutral.   Helm - God of Protection. Domains: Forge, Knowledge, War Helm has elements of Heimdall about him, but is mostly known as a consummate protector venerated throughout the world. He leans Lawful Neutral.   Gwyn - God of the Sun and Warriors. Domains: Light, Strength, War, Zeal The most recent and conspicuous example of a god whom many sages think is calling to be replaced, Gwyn began life several millennia ago and became an epic hero through his deeds and fearlessness. Knightly orders claiming descent from his armies still thrive today, though elves whisper that the time has come, and that Gwyn’s weakening is cursing some humans when they’re born with inevitable undeath. He leans Lawful Neutral.   Gwynevere - Goddess of Protection. Domains: Light, Life, Solidarity Gwyn ascended with the help of his children, and the divine essence of the god who came before splintered. Gwynevere is kind and compassionate, though many feel she’s been distant for centuries; answers to prayers and communions are usually short and to the point, if unsatisfying. Many of her clergy are secretly despairing. She leans Neutral Good.   Gwyndolin - God of the Moon. Domains: Ambition, Arcana, Order, Trickery Gwyn was always disdainful of his effete son, yet despite this, Gwyndolin loved and revered his father, and did his best to live up to the family expectations. His sister Gwynevere truly loved him, despite his mysterious departure from the family’s warlike roots, and he honors her to this day. Gwyndolin’s clergy refer to their god as ‘she’, and conduct the rites one would for a goddess, in accordance with Gwyndolin’s wishes. She leans Chaotic Good.   Serra - Goddess of War and Strategy. Domains: Knowledge, Light, Life, War Gwyn’s eldest child fell from grace early, and his name was stricken from as many records as Gwyn’s clergy could find. The mighty winged warrior Serra assumed his place, and stands as a slightly more aggressive counterpart to Athena. Serra is also the central figure of worship in Benalia, a mighty empire on Dominaria. She leans Lawful Good.
