Rakshodan

The Rakshodan are in fact a bunch of mutated humans. They are big bipedal carnivores, with sharp claws.

They do not traditionally reproduce. They are able to convert members of other species into their own, however that has only been done once so far.

Their main food is the blood of other species, although they do consume meat occasionally.

History

For many years, the people of Nahargat worshiped Ghatki-Vipesh, a cruel and sadistic deity, that expected them to perform self flagellation and brutal ritual fights in order to satisfy him. It should come as no wonder, that when a Frisian missionary came and tried to convert the local population to worship Linurahir instead, he has an almost complete success. Only a handful of people remained loyal to Ghatki Vipesh. Two families and two individuals.
Ghatki Vipesh led those still loyals to him into a cavern where in a deeper part of it sat what looked like an empty pool. The place was emanating a powerful sensation of magic. He told his remaining followers that they are to kidnap the rest of the villagers, bring them here, and empty their blood into the pool. He also told them that he will assist them in accomplishing this task by enhancing their ability to stay hidden. One other thing he asked them to do is to eventually capture the missionary.
They complied, and as a reward they were transformed into the Rakshodan
