Captain Renata (a.k.a. Red)
Renata is a Canai (red fox) pirate, and the Fleet Captain of the Redwing Raiders pirate band operating within the Great Rift between Eulan and Aelor. Commanding one of the largest and most prolific pirate fleets in the Cloudsea, Renata has enjoyed a long and fruitful career of raiding ships belonging to the Kaedran Empire, even serving as a privateer for the kingdoms of Aelor from time to time, despite her supposed Castainian heritage.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Renata has a lithe physique, and has a high level of agility.

Renatas body is covered in red and white fur, which turns black around her hands and feet.
Facial Features
Like most fox-like Canai, Renata has a narrow, triangular face.
Special abilities
Renata possesses a number of Rootwarden abilities, primarily focused on enhancing her speed, reflexes, and agility.
Apparel & Accessories
Renata typically wears boots, dark trousers, a red shirt , a dark coat with red accenting of fine make , and a black and red tricorn hat.
Specialized Equipment
Renata possesses a well made rapier crafted from Skysteel, as well as a Machina-crafted pistol of Athean make she claims to have "liberated" from a Kaedran transport vessel.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Not much is known of Renatas past outside of her Kaedran heritage, and she hasn't been particularly forthcoming about her early life herself. Given the way she carries herself, as well as her focus on targeting ships of Kaedran origin, it's rumored she may have come from a minor Castainian noble or merchant family that had been disgraced in some way.
What is known is that she first joined the Redwings around the age of 16, serving on the crew of the Pheonix, and eventually working her way up to the rank of captain by the age of 21. It's around this time that Renata truely began to come into her own as a member of the Redwings, developing a reputation for her boldness and cunning when she began leading many raids closer to the Kaedran territories than most other ships. This reputation would see her rise to become a high ranking captain within the Redwings, and eventually become Fleet Captain around 28. It was also around this time that she began doing privateer work for the kingdoms of Aelor, which only further strengthened her influence.
Education
Renata is believed to have recieved a typical Kaedran education in her youth, and may have had at least some passing knowledge of ships and sailing prior to joining the Redwing Raiders.
Employment
It's not known what employment Renata may have had before joining the Redwing Raiders (though some claim she may have been involved with airship trade in some minor capacity), it is known that she first joined the Redwings around the age of 16.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Renata has many successful raids to her name (with the raid that earned her her Machina-powered pistol being one of her most well regarded), and her promotion to the rank of Fleet Captain through a combination of armed force and shrewd negotiaton remains her greatest achievement.
Failures & Embarrassments
The biggest failure Renata has experienced in her time with the Redwings was a failed raid in her early career that almost ended in her capture at the hands of Ephron, a high-ranking captain within the Castainian arm of the Kaedran fleet.
