The Dominant Yeth
The Kthabre are echoes of the Charun, the third iteration of the Yeth, which consists of both male and female genders. They are the most plentiful of the Yeth, and regardless of whether they serve as slaves or masters, they are zealous and single-minded in their duty.
Anatomy & Morphology
They are anthropomorphic, typically with two arms, two legs and an endoskeleton. Their skin is thick and hard, yet it resembles that of molluscs, covered in a slick mucus. They are hairless, instead sporting tentacles on their heads and in place of beards. While they have an endoskeleton, the shape of their bones more closely resembles that of an exoskeleton in places like their spines, shoulders, heads and hips, with their skin stretched over and muscles weaving around and underneath. They are also known to often grow with asymmetrical mutations, such as one larger clawed arm, or in some cases having a third arm on one side of their body.
Males or often larger and stronger than females, with the addition of face tentacles, mimicking beard hair and replacing their lips; however, females are more flexible and have stronger immune systems since they bear children.
Genetics and Reproduction
They have intercourse like most mammals do, with a gestation period of about 6 months. The females then lay tough leathery eggs, which incubate for another month.
Growth Rate & Stages
The Kthabre have a fast early life cycle. They reach adolescence within seven to eight years and adulthood within thirteen to fourteen. This is due to them being echoes of the Makhai. Their old age is considered to be around the 800-year mark, at which point their skin becomes translucent and drier.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The Kthabre are omnivores, eating anything, even metals and rocks.
Their faces are roughly human shaped, with two eyes around the middle of their heads. They have slightly larger craniums that stretch around the cheekbones into gaunt cheeks and deep eye sockets. They have no noses and simple earholes on the side of their heads. Their eyes are pale and milky with black diamond-shaped pupils.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They have incredible eyesight and hearing: however, they have no sense of smell, all their other senses are on par with most mortal races.
Civilization and Culture
The Kthabre's names are based in their native language of Abyssian.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
The Kthabre are echoes of the Charun, who emerged in The Abyss around the end of the war. The Abyss is a changing and twisted realm with little in the way of consistent geography so the Kthabre and the rest of the Yeth have little in the way of a homeland; however, they have claimed all of the Abyss and often seek other worlds to dominate, such as Domus, where they most prominently come into conflict with the Tithons.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
The Kthabre tend to act aggressively towards other mortal races, seeing them as alien and strange, on the other hand, other mortal races view them the same, leaving little room for any relational progress between the Kthabre and other mortal races.
