Fire Genasi

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fire genasi share most of their anatomy with humans and the more generic types of humanoids. They resemble humans in most ways except for their often red, orange or coal black skin colors, even though these eccentric skin colors are common among fire genasi, they can also be close to if not share the same skin colors as humans with small variations in other aspects of their bodies.

Biological Traits

Fire genasi have a natural relation to the plane of fire, and therefor can harness some of its power. Most fire genasi will learn how to produce and even control fire to some degree. Some might manifest hair in the form of fire, while others can make simple fires contained within their palms. Some go beyond this, some fire genasi can not only control and produce fire, but channel the true powers of the elemental plane of fire at their will. These genasi are known as firesoul genasi and are very rare, it is even unknown if any genasi can become this powerful or if it is an ability only given to some, or depends on how pure a genasi's connection to an efreeti is. Even if all genasi can not control fire or produce it, they all share the same resistance to it.

Genetics and Reproduction

Fire genasi reproduce in the normal manure of humanoids and have a slightly longer gestation period of around 300 days.

Growth Rate & Stages

Fire genasi grow and mature at the same rate as humans, but live a few decades longer.

Ecology and Habitats

Fire genasi do not have any favored terrains as a race, but many prefer hotter temperatures because of their natural resistance to such climates. Even though they are naturally suited for harsh hot lands, they can often be found anywhere in the world.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They share some abilities from their planar ancestors, and even though most of their senses are equal to that of humans, their unique sight allows them to see well in darkness as if through and orange/red lense.

Relationship Ideals

As fire genasi are quite rare in the world, it is rare to see two of them together. They often have no natural or primal urge to find one of their own as most fire genasi now are born between either a humanoid and fire genasi or born to non fire genasi parents who had a fire genasi or efreeti ancestor.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Fire genasi have their own dialect of primordial which is their birth language, even if a genasi never meets antoher of their kind or have any connection with their efreeti ancestors they will gradually learn it with age. Fire genasi often alsospeak the languages of where they are born, be it elvish, common or daharian.

History

Many fire genasi in the world have ties back to the ancient kingdom of Harajifar which was a kingdom of efreeti in the prime material world. Its precise location is unknown but it is believed it was located on the continent of Mar'Dahar. The kingdom rules from before the first age and is believed to have been destroyed during the avatar battles where many nations faced the same fate as Harajifar.

Common Myths and Legends

A common myth about fire genasi are that they cannot live in extreme cold climates as their fiery bodies cannot take the cold as well as an average human, this, however is false as many fire genasi can live in cold climates and thrive in them. Their innate fire does not hinder them in these cold areas, but rather enhance their survivability.
