Fossil Fuels in Alore

Fossil Fuels refer to a means of generating mechanical power through the use of various carbon based compounds, such as coal, natural gas, and oil. In the case of Tyrralore, the general use and burning of fossil fuels for energy has been largely discontinued ever since the inception of P.U.L.S.E.-based systems, as the cost of manufacture for P.U.L.S.E Liquid has been reduced dramatically since the First Era and the fact that P.U.L.S.E. has a far less pronounced impact on the environment. It should be stated that as of the late Second Era, most nations outside of Tyrralore still use fossil fuels as P.U.L.S.E. has been legally limited to use by Tyrralore's Technocracy only, though this will likely change some time after its reunification.

Complexity

In comparison to something like modern day P.U.L.S.E.-based systems, fossil fuels are extremely simple in that they are almost entirely used as heat generation via the release of carbon. This heat boils surrounding water into steam, which is then funneled into a turbine casing to convert that heat energy into mechanical energy, and thusly into electricity. The water is then condensed and allowed to repeat the cycle. In less commercial uses, fossil fuels operate as simple heat generation for a variety of purposes, whether for house heating, cooking, water boilers, or operating archaic vehicles.

Discovery

The usage of Fossil Fuels dates back to before the Dark Ages, as even the Four Great Heroes were known to use them in some regards. It is unknown as to what capacity the Pre-Dark Age Alorean societies utilized such technologies, but through linear progression models they are thought to be far more primitive than even Dark Age Aloreans.
