The Frigid Mountains

The mountain range is a dangerous frozen wasteland to any creature even slightly ill-prepared for the area.

Geography

The Frigid Mountains are composed of dozens or sheer cliffs, gigantic masses of ice, and towering peaks covered in snow. An ever present blizzard torments the environment at all times, creating one of the most dangerous and coldest places in the world, justly earning its title 'The Frigid Mountains'. For those who are foolish enough to attempt entering the mountain range, there are very few ways to safely enter in, and even fewer known places of entry.

Fauna & Flora

Most creatures living withing the mountains pose a general threat to one's safety, to be expected from being able to survive and live withing such an unforgiving region. Various species of trolls come to mind as standard residents of The Frigid Mountains. Occasionally one might even come across congregations of Shobhads, strange four-armed giants who can more than hold their own in physical combat. Glacier toads are known to have been seen in caves my those who ventured in and soon sought refuge from the blizzard, possibly drawn in by glimmering ores and mineral deposits in the mountains. It is even surmised that Frost worms reside within the various mountains, but most individuals would wish this to be just an urban legend. Other typical creatures of the mountains are nomadic trolls of multiple varieties, occasionally making up bands and gangs.

Natural Resources

Very few groups have been brave or well-prepared enough to venture into the blizzard to try to mine for anything of value to be found within the inhospitable icy mountains, almost all turning out empty handed if indeed they did make it out. Many believe there to be rich deposits of ores, gold, mythril and the like, just waiting to be tapped into for their immense value, however due to the sheer cold most are deterred and turn back on their dreams of fortune. Due to the climate though many believe there to be rare ice crystals, sought after by many for their value in alchemy, growing in the miles of ice and snow.
