Soul

Every sentient creature has a soul, both on Earth and Alma. No two souls are the same, and they can be very powerful if harnessed properly.

Properties

Material Characteristics

The souls and mana of the people of Alma are invisible and unusable. However, the soul energy of the people on Earth bleeds into Alma, resulting in small white glowing orbs leaving trails of plasma-like energy floating all over Alma. Most people agree that these orbs are what souls look like.

Vigors

Every soul has a unique power hidden inside it called a Vigor. The powers can vary wildly, such as being able to create and throw fire to having a psychic attunement to technology. All Almiposa have this power unlocked outright, but other people can unlock their ability with a Vigora Crystal. The powers of an Almiposa tend to be more powerful than the powers generated from a Vym Crystal, however.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Souls constantly generate energy called mana, which is a miasma of thoughts, memories, and emotions; it comes in the same color of the soul that generated it.

History & Usage

Cultural Significance and Usage

The world of Alma has been formed by mana. Mana powers nearly every important piece of technology in Alma, thanks to Mementonium.

Hazards

When a person on Earth feels hatred, their soul creates black mana instead of mana the color of their soul. Black mana is toxic to the people of Alma - even inhaling it can cause serious illness.
The disposal of black mana used to consist of dumping it in designated, sealed-off places, similar to how we get rid of radioactive waste. However, leaving black mana to ferment for so long has led to the creation of IRE. Alma does not dispose of black mana this way anymore, now neutralizing it completely with Achromite, a much safer and more effective method.
Type
Metaphysical
Color
Every soul is a different color. Most souls' colors are chromatic (ROYGBIV), but some people have metallic-colored souls (gold, silver, etc.). There has never been a black, white or gray soul.
Common State
Souls and mana behave much like plasma - not quite liquid and not quite gas.
