The Singing Halls

Beneath the grand music center of Fuaim Nadur lies the Singing Halls, the largest healing center in the North. The rooms and hallways hum day and night with echoes of the performances above, the music channeled down into the enhanced seinn crystals located throughout the Hall.
While nearly half a century old, by elven standards the Singing Halls are a recent addition to the world. The discovery of healing harmonics led a few notable healers to test how well the enhanced crystals worked under a constant flow of music. Their tests far exceeded expectations, and construction was begun beneath the Fuaim Nadur to create a healing hall the likes of which Allurel had never seen. It took nearly twenty years to add the new chambers and modify the existing structure. Columns were hollowed out and "vents" were added to allow the sound to reach new crystals that directed music to the halls below.
While the Fuaim Nadur has always welcomed singers and musicians of any level of experience at any time of day, the addition of the Singing Halls has resulted in an increased demand for performers so that music is flowing to the healing chambers at all times. Though small pauses between performances still occur, overall the plan has worked. They also implemented requirements for amateur musicians to "audition". This requirement serves not to weed out bad performers, but to prevent those who might inadvertently do harm through the crystals from taking the stage.

Purpose / Function

The Singing Halls are, first and foremost, a healing center. The primary areas of the structure are designed similarly to other elven centers of the same type, though with more emphasis on allowing sounds to flow throughout the building, rather than minimizing them. Physicians and healers treat patients as they would at any healing center, but here the energies of healing harmonics are more than just a minor application. Healing and recovery times for patients are significantly reduced, and both magical and mundane medications seem to have increased potency.
