Thessaryn Magistrate
The Thessaryn Magistrate is another of the three factions vying for control of the old and now disbanded Kingdom of Thessaryn. The Thessaryn Magistrate is supported by the Windshire Magistrate and its other allies, and is competing against the two Principalities for control of the kingdom. They control a majority of the old kingdom's land, but most of their land is uninhabited forests and mountains. Most of the kingdom's mages reside here and support the Magistrate, giving them a major edge in magical combat. But other than magic and allies, the Magistrate has little else. Their main base of operations is an old university located in a mountain city. From there, they can see the entire kingdom.
Public Agenda
The Thessaryn Magistrate, alongside the other two factions, wants to reunite the old kingdom of Thessaryn under their rule.
Assets
The Magistrate is quite wealthy, and owns large stores of gold, silver and other precious metals gained from the mountains and from trade. The Magistrate also doesn't actually own a large and professional army and instead relies on local town guards and groups of mages hired by the Emerald Council to uphold the laws.
History
The Magistrate began as a simple mages' guild under the Kingdom of Thessaryn. Years passed and it became a powerful faction among the kingdom, and purchased vast chunks of land in the east of the kingdom, closer to the other Magistrates. When the Kingdom fell and its last king died, the Thessaryn Magistrate declared its intention to reconquer the lands of the former kingdom.
Education
While most of the population isn't well educated, Universities of Magic and just any sort of higher education is very strongly supported by the Magistrate. Most training mages sign up to serve under the Magistrate and help spread its influence. Compared to the other two factions in the old kingdom, the Magistrate contains the most percent of educated people, and the largest percentage of mages. Of course, the true Magistrates east of the mountain offer superior education, but crossing the mountains is no easy task, even for a mage.

Legislative Body
The Amethyst Council is responsible for writing laws and legalizing/banning certain types of magic and certain spells. The council is made up of the wisest and oldest mages of the land, and members remain appointed for life.
Judicial Body
The Emerald Council is responsible for carrying out and enforcing the laws written by the Amethyst Council. Unlike the Amethyst Council, the Emerald Council is made up of the most powerful, and usually younger mages, who serve as soldiers. The two types of illegal magic that the Emerald Council focuses on dealing with the most is Shadow and Blood Magic.
