Finn'undel Barri'kan
Great Monk Finn'undel Rokarr Barri'kan (a.k.a. Finn)
Finn, as he prefers to be called, is the head monk of the Great Temple Sul'ran. He is an Earth Genasi who is reaching his older years but is still as strong as in his youth. He has basically been raised up in the teachings of the monks and the Temple and has grown tremendously wise over the years. He is highly respected among all Genasi and it is believed that he has a special connection to the divine powers whom the monks commune with. Along with being one of the most divinely attuned of Great Monks, it is said that he is also one of the most progressive. He has spent much of his time and resources on conducting historical research in the Temple, deciphering old texts and discovering additional details and secrets concerning the actions of the gods in the distant past. He is typically a very warm and welcoming person, always seeking understanding and rich friendship. Rumors circulate about his tougher, stone-cold side however. One story in particular suggests that Finn buried a group of robbers alive into the mountainside through magic when they attempted to desecrate the Great Temple. Of course, there is no evidence to prove the stories as true.

Personal history
Finn'undel began his monk training when he was in his late teens, right after the Festival of the Elements many years ago. He spent most of his time in the Great Temple Sul'ran, travelling between there and his hometown of Yeong periodically. After the first ten years of his training as a monk's apprentice, he was officially inducted into the order as a monk himself. It was already clear at this point that Finn had a natural talent for being able to understand and interpret the ancient texts and ciphers that explained the histories of the gods. During the next ten years, he worked diligently to help organize and reconcile newly discovered pieces of historical literature into the divine narrative of the past. His mentors regarded him with respect, some even going so far as to ask for his assistance in seeking out prophecy from the gods when individuals would make requests while visiting the Temple. He continued to grow in his abilities for prophesying, studying, and teaching even as the Great Temple became less accessible due to environmental changes in the Kal'Un Mountains. He made a vow to himself when he was named Great Monk of the Temple, that he would learn from the gods or otherwise why the Temple had become so isolated from the rest of the world, especially since it was the annual pilgrimage site for his people to reconnect with the divine.
