Imprisoned in the Moons

For centuries old crones have spun tales to little ones around their bedside at night about the Sleeping Giants imprisoned in the Moons. They talk of beings with too many heads that haunted children's dreams and stole them away in the night if they misbehaved. Creatures that came from the water, covered in black and green muck, destroying towns, taking children under the currents, and leaving eggs where they slept to hatch and grow up in place of the missing children. These tales are older than time. Most children think they are just stories told to scare them into behaving, but once every few weeks, when both moons are full, look up at the moons and you will see something looking back.     Epherith, The Emerald Eye, the smaller of Aliria's two moons, is said to be imprisoning a great demon. Told to be responsible for the Fall of Dragons, this demon is said to have come from The Void and created the hells of our plane. Sent here to root out any life left by the Prime Movers leading an army of demons. It is said to have burned away everything green and living, and for centuries, ruled over the lands before the Prime Movers themselves came back to Aliria to imprison the demon lord in the Epherith.   Kilara, the bigger of the two moons, is said to house an otherworldly being of the same name. K'ilara is a myth of a creature. Too many heads, too many eyes, and long Kraken-like appendages. Said to have been one of the gods here before life was seeded by the Prime Movers, this being ruled the Under Dark and amassed a following of nightmarish creatures. Insect-humanoids, creatures that resembled itself with eyes over their entire bodies moving like masses of flesh, and even creatures that lurked in swamps that are said to still exist today. During the seeding of life on Aliria, The Prime Movers fought against the god and wounded it, allowing them to imprison it. Kilara is the biggest and oldest moon of Aliria.
