Session 20: Underdark: The Maze part 2

General Summary

Our heroes moved deeper into the cave network and camp across a bit of water. Daeran crossed a small bit of water and spotted a minion. They attacked, a well timed hit nearly killed Lucas. In a few moments of confusion, our heroes thought the fresh air was coming from the middle of a lake. Daeran gave Rorick, Zanril, and Kaylin a mushroom that allows them to breath under water. Rorick put Lucas and Solto in a boat and pushed them to the middle of the lake. The rest of the party followed. Suddenly bubbles appeared all around them accompanied by a deep rumbling. Daeran dove under the lake and saw an opening, he swam to it and looked around, it appeared to be another large cavern, he thought he saw indication that there was air trapped in this cavern. Meanwhile, on the surface of the lake, Rorick was just about to push the boat back to shore when a tentacle appeared. He stabbed it with his dagger, it recoiled for a second and then pulled the boat with Lucas and Solto under water. In a split second decision Rorick grabbed for Lucas and was dragged under with the rest of them. Kaylin had swam to shore right after the bubbles appeared, soon after Zanril swam back to join her. Daeran swam to the surface to report what he had seen. Zanril took a deep breath and cast Augury as a ritual, the answer he received convinced him to follow his companions into the deep.
