Mirani

Mirani is the trade hub of the world.
  Massive diverse culture.
Largest city in Alethria. Vacation spot. Edging toward tropical.
Bustling port, robust military control over port. Frequent pirates are spotted.
Conflict: vain and corrupt leaders. Nonchalance about the jungle. Shady religious leaders.
Mirani is the trade hub of West Alethria. It's situated on the Lower Leg, and is the largest city on the Ottenmak Sea.
The Alethrian Cartography Guild is situated in the city square next to the Courthouse and the Majere Cathedral. A massive stone sculpted building that houses the adventurers and cartographers that map out the landscape after each Shift in the Jungle, Wayside Isles, Ianhaus, and Cevran. The Cartography Guild is ran by Ac. Hindra Von Elsephex. There are many groups and "factions" of Adventurers that compete to produce the most accurate and efficient maps. The businessmen, investors, and Houses pay top dollar for accurate maps after Shifts.
The port of Mirani is regulated by Mr. Swindle, a portly halfling who offers "protection" to different merchants and sailors. The protection is more along the lines of "we won't sink you to the bottom of the ocean if you pay our tax."
The on-paper controllers of the port are the Mirani Merchant's Guild. This group is responsible for trade between the other countries, and in this time of Alethrian decline, the Merchant Guild has the most money out of all the guilds. The guild is ran by Travis Rezzenbrook.
Mirani is known for their people and their market. The people are the most diverse collection of people in the world, every race, every species is in Mirani, and there's the least amount of disparity between the races. The Market is nearly 24/7 in a state of festival. Cups overflow, banners and pendants fly, all the colors of the world (and some not of the world) can be seen in tent flaps and stalls. The weight of the Jungle has yet to reach the citizens of Mirani, as they are situated the furthest away from the source.
