Plains of Airedale

Sitting on the top of the thatched roof after a long hard day of working in the fields Valla stared out into the distance. It was beautiful view, Valla doubted if there was a more vibrant of view in all of Alesund. She had been brought up in the religion of the 12 and she believed that even the fields of Elysium had nothing on this view.
She looked out on the golden fields, and the rolling green hills that surrounded the town; the rest rays of the late summer sun shaded the entire area in hues of red and orange. Off in the distance she could see the lazy Aowyth flow across the plains to the south down towards the capital of the kingdom. Off to the east she would just make out the dark edges of the Lonely woods, the last remaining section of the Great Green Woods left in the human kingdoms.

Geography

The plains of Airedale is a large open temperate area of the Human Kingdom. The area around the town of Airedale is surrounded by golden fields for the majority of the year, because of the location of the plains in the top quarter of the continent in the temperament. There are golden hills which role off in every direction, and at the center of the plains the lazy Aowyth River gently winds its way through, which supplies the local farms with all of the fresh water that they need in order to keep producing food.
The plains end in the East when they reach the Lonely Woods, the last vestiage of the old Great Green Wood in the Human Kingdoms. The powerful magic of this place has prevented the locals from harvesting this wood. Towards the South and West the plains start of become rolling hills, and several families have taken to this area to raise herds of cattle or sheep.

Fauna & Flora

This area is a testament to the human resourcefulness and drive to bend the land to its will. When the first humans arrived in the area it was a wild and untamed region with many different types of plants and animals. But, within a few generations the main things that can now be found in the area is the crops and herds that are tended to by the humans. The herds of cattle and sheep dominate the southern and western parts of the plains while fields of wheat, corn, barely, and other vegetables dot much of the rest
Occasionally some wolves and other predators come down for the mountains from the South and West in an attempt to get an easy meal.
