The Red Water Gospel Band

Origins

In the modern period, the red water Gospel was a popular Folk-Rock band with a crew from all over the eastern half of Aldreyan. From the Island nation of Shimakuni, the high fantasy-like Empire of Tribes, to the desert regions of Omnibiru.   It began when Poltin, Valtin, and Galga, traveled to Shimakuni to attend the Academy of Resonance, one of the island nation's most prestigious colleges for weaponsmithing and combat tech, where they met Mureth, a fellow student who shared the same musical passion.   Since the idea of becoming weapon smiths gradually became increasingly mundane with the more classes they skipped to practice their ensembles, they dropped out and formed what is now "The Red Water Gospel", inspired by the cryptic "Red Water Gospel Cult" that was said to terrorize the seas and coasts of both the western and eastern Aldreyan back in E.T.F.   Since no one had an elegant voice to accompany the opposingly energetic and heavy nature of folk-rock, they set out for a lead singer - a journey taking them to Omnibiru where they met Maren, a composer of a handful of musical pieces for independent radio shows and movies, and a member of the Omnibric Northwinds Choir.   Not only did Maren get along well with the band, but she contributed many game-changing ideas that would help bring them to becoming one of the most popular bands in all of Aldreyan

Contraband

This band exclusively sells in the eastern half of Aldreyan. A choice not of the band's, but of their record label, fearing boycotts that may come from providing services to the Western empires. However, that didn't stop some smugglers, especially those from Windrose with the highest population of pirates, outlaws, and contraband carriers, from going overseas and buying vinyl from the Red Water Gospel, and copying them for themselves.   This has led to the Red Water Gospel becoming a sensation in the territory of Windrose - a place they weren't even allowed to sell to. Hit songs from the band (as well as others in the folk-rock genre that were smuggled overseas), became symbols of Windrose that incorporated multiculturalism, and that hyperactive rebellious and revolutionary spirit into their culture, playing eastern folk-rock, and heavy orchestra/symphony hits in taverns, underground trading posts, and from the comfort of the home. Of course, Atsania doesn't need to know about it. And if they did, what would they do if the citizens held smuggled music? The citizens will only act dumb and look the other way.   "What me? I don't fiddle with such things, and my guitar does not know the melodies of Omnibiru nor Shimakuni. It knows a mixture of both! RED WATER GOSPEL FOREVER!"

Thoughts on the Red Water Gospel

"Compelling, inspiring, invigorating - a punching my fist through drywall inducer like all music should be."   "One time, Altsanian soldiers barged through my front door after hearing rumors I held eastern contraband. In their initial listen to Red Water Gospel's "Turn Thee Away", the intruders gave me a hug, a pat on the back, and left with a tip of their hat, not saying a word."     "When I die, I want Red Water Gospel's "After the Storm" to play at my funeral. If it doesn't, my soul will crawl from the depths of the great voids, punch the eternal gatekeeper twins in their nuts, steal their key, and return back to the land of the living so I can leave that pitiful excuse for a funeral."   "Me and my mate were the only ones left from my crew in this bloody skirmish. Seeing the opportunity, we blasted "One Road Paved with Glory" from Red Water Gospel. We singlehandedly pushed back against an entire battalion of Yorkshire blokes, and we both got our medal of honor."

Lending a Helping Hand to the Empire

One time, the Red Water Gospel played for an infamous band of mercenaries - the Howling Ravensnitch gang, who happened to be big fans of the band. In a deal with the Empire of Tribes, the band set up a secret concert just for them, posing as secret revolutionary supporters to lure them into the Empire's secret fusillade.   It was a service they agreed to when one of their concerts was caught in an uncontrolled skirmish between the Howling Ravensnitch, and the Murkcrawler gangs. Receiving the news that 13 fans died in the incident, the lead singer, Maren, had little hesitation in helping end the Howling Ravensnitch gang. The others were more reluctant, but some reassurement and a hefty payday were enough to ease their worries.
