Aldolei

Aldolei. A continent relatively small to those across the vast oceans which isolate it. The people of Aldolei have been exposed to a new threat, that of the Great Silence, who has swept across the seas to their home, but, something that Aldolei has that none of their planetary brothers had was magic. They have mastered magic unlike any other, with their Mage-jarls leading the many provinces of the continent. They hope that they can protect their small continent from the Great Silence's wrath. Many heroes have risen and fallen over Aldolei's long history, but now they are entering an age in which magic is widespread and the people are all ready to fight this unknown threat.   Aldolei is a land known for its mountain ranges, criss-crossing the entire continent. Each one is unique in its own way, from the Spires which tower high above the clouds in the north, the oddly purple Shadow Range, the tall and jagged cliffs of the Crag, the spirals and high peaks of the Falcon Mounts, and the difficult Cross Ridge. The people of Aldolei have all adapted to different climates, such as the Norse, able to survive the harsh White Tundra in the northern regions; and the nomadic Scythians in the Crag.   South of the White Tundra, and east of the Spires, is the continental capital at Aldolis. Aldolis lies within the mystical Anti'en Forest, which is known for its strange ancient ruins. It has remained the continent's greatest city, located on a tall hill of its own. Around the entire continent, there are ruins from the ancient Enders, who split off from the First Race before the humans did. They built cities within the mountains, underground, anywhere they could, before they mysteriously disappeared. Their secrets are still hidden within many of these barely-explored cities and ruins, which are still haunted by their former inhabitants' spirits.   The continent of Aldolei has seen many tragedies in its existence, even before the arrival of the Great Silence. An offshoot of the Terras threatened the entire continent, but they were fought off to the Black Tundra. King Galdrow kas Landar almost destroyed Aldolis before he was brought down. The Mage-Jarls have stood mighty over these warring lands for centuries, but this is a threat unlike any other. Only time will tell if Aldolei will survive yet another world destroyer.
