Aldal

The continent of Aldal is a landmass of widely varying environments and weather systems. The continent itself is separated into three parts by two major mountain ranges, impassable by current modes of transportation, therefore leading to relatively isolated groups of countries within each section.   Surrounded by an ancient ocean, known in lore and Creation mythology as Aldal's Well, the waters are vibrant with life and creatures and have a mystic energy to them. Rivers fed directly by Aldal's Well are said to have healing powers. It is believed that Aldal's Well is the reason why the people of the island nation of Asoro still have magical abilities, being the only country completely surrounded by its waters, and since they live their lives strictly ruled by the ocean's tides and in complete harmony with the ocean and all its creatures.   Asoro sits with four other countries in this part of Aldal (known as Havior's Coast, named after a God of old that was said to have fallen from the sky after a great battle, the impact of his fall creating the great crater that was filled by Aldal's Well to make the Grave Sea that separates the eastern and western parts of the region): the ever-growing Kestra Empire, the country of the eastern highlands Vatan, and the Dream-people of Wepiri.
