After The Great Divide, the world has never been the same. Magical islands, rifts between dimensions, and power grabs for desolate land. No one truly knows the extent of evil and terror The Divide has brought, but it waits in the depths growing stronger and hungrier.   Nations have been popping up all over the world spreading from Cavidel, a continent of primarily humanoid beings. The memories of races lost with those who fell during the apocalypse are being rediscovered, and so too are the inherent conflicts.   Magic is being rediscovered by the greats, and preserved by those who survived "The Split" (a common slang term for The Great Divide). Before, specific people and creatures had innate abilities to imbue magic into items. Now, the power lies in almost everyone to weild and cast the magic themselves.   Dragons were a relic of another age. It is said they ruled over the lands and those who dwelled upon them. Their wills were as good as any god's. Something drove them away. Maybe they knew The Divide was coming, or they caused it, but they have never been seen again. Recently there have been sightings from unreliable sources, sparking an influx of dragon worshipers and cultists.
