Temples of Sevras the Weaver

This is the primary, at least in terms of attendance, faith of Albion. Formed from a pantheon of gods, this religion is mostly monolatrous, worshiping Sevras the Weaver above all others, though those others may be turned to for specific needs. Seen as the "Weaver of the Threads of Fate", Sevras is believed to be the primary driving force behind the functioning of the world, and so is seen as primarily responsible for the quality of a persons life. The primary tenants of the belief are rather simple, very "go with the flow", and as it upholds the social norms, is popular with the powerful of the island.

Mythology & Lore

Sevras is seen as the ultimate god, who weaves the stories of all other gods and mortals into their shapes. As such, while many gods may be powerful and able to help, Sevras alone can shape destiny, and only with Sevras' will can things happen.

Divine Origins

Sevras was originally a rather minor household deity, commonly associated with weaving. During the reign of an early King of Albion, his worship and position as the weaver of fate was supported and spread, and through time he became more popular, though the religion remained monolatrous.

Priesthood

The priests of Sevras, known as Attendants, wear and produce beutifully woven goods, inculding woven sacred texts that they wear as markers of their position. Appoited theoretically by Sevras but practically by the higher ups of the faith, they serve the communities they live in with the common concerns of religious life, such as sacrifices, offerings, and rites. They are also very well equipped to point to a god that might be specifcally able to help for a specific problem, for an offering to Sevras to allow that god to exercise his power of course.
