Villa de Greg
Between the continents of Bastique and Serpé lies a number of small islands known as the Coins. Many of the islands are inhabited by criminals of all sorts who are hiding from the law of both lands, seeking the safety of the perilous reef that surrounds the Coins as well as the pirates that call this region home.
On the largest of these islands lies the settlement of Villa de Greg. Established by Greg Eastbridge, known to most as Greasy Greg, the Villa quickly became a den of iniquity. Anything that anyone could possibly wish for is available for the right price, whether that be alcohol, drugs, pleasure or whatever a twisted mind could dream of.
Most of the Villa consists of brothels, and the majority of the population of Villa de Greg consists of the men and women that work in them. Greasy Greg, the self-styled King of Villa de Greg, has ensured that there is a person available who can fill any needs or interests, no matter how dark or twisted those interests may be.
The parties and hedonism of Villa de Greg continue day and night and the drunk, drugged and used can be found littering the streets, continuing to consume their chosen vice. While fights are commonplace, to the point that it is a rare night that someone isn't thrown through a window, there is a rule that bans murder. This is to ensure that the town does not fall into complete anarchy. Greg has his own mercenaries that enforce this rule. However, it is largely unnecessary, as the locals and the criminals that visit regulate themselves, dealing with those that break the rules harshly.
The biggest building in town belongs to Greasy Greg himself. A gaudy looking manor with a fountain built around a statue of Greg with angelic wings. Its multi-story walls are built out of stone brick, as opposed to the wooden buildings that litter the rest of the settlement. It is one of the few buildings in Villa de Greg that appears to be decently well maintained, along with the high-class brothels and smokehouses.
Government
As the self-proclaimed King of Villa de Greg, Greasy Greg makes all of the decisions when it comes to the running of his little kingdom. Any that wish to visit the town must pay an entrance tax. At which point, they are able to access all that the town has to offer, for a price. Greg then taxes the various establishments around town, taking 10% of whatever they earn every day. In order to enforce this, Greg's mercenaries are responsible for filling the role of the tax collector and going door to door to take what each business owner owes their King, by force if necessary.
Defences
As well as the natural defences of the reef, several ships have been beached around the Coins, from which powerful ballistae have been set that are manned at all times by mercenaries. Surrounding the town's port are towers, each topped by more of these ballistae. Due to the sheer amount of traitors, bandits, pirates, serial killers, cannibals from all over Aland that frequent the island, it would be unwise for anyone to try to lay siege to it.
