Barmanou

Barmanou are humanoid like creatures that live in frozen mountainous regions of the world. They are top predators and strict carnivores, eating only raw meat. In other worlds and times they have been called yeti, or abominable snowmen.
Barmanou are heavily resistant to the cold, and even in the coldest of regions still don't wear more clothing than simple loincloths.
Barmanou are heavily misunderstood by other creatures. Their language sounds like roars to the uninitiated and their deep desire to remain silent/invisible means that they are often only seen when they surprise humanoids in thick snowstorms from close range, roaring at them. While the barmanou may only be trying to help wayward travelers, to the traveler in this stressful situation it often looks like an attack.
Barmanou families remain relatively isolated but they have trade networks, trading stone, wood, and other unrefined tools as needed.
Barmanou philosophy and culture is deeply rooted in the values of balance and nondisturbance. Death is as natural as life, and killing is necessary for life to flourish. But one's actions should disturb the natural balance as little as possible - ones life should follow the principles of good design and remain completely invisible. Death should be brought as swiftly and unequicaly as possible. One's home and creations should appear as if they were always present and never disturbed - the Barmanou eschew all processes of refinement and "development".
Contrary to these principles that guide most of Barmanou life, Barmanou Gwahl, or giant yeti, have eschewed balance in favor of power. Though sharing a root language with Barmanou, they are as viscious and deadly as most cultures believe all Barmanou to be. Additionally, they have a piercing gaze that can freeze the blood of any that look into their eyes.
