The Apolex Ambiguity
The Apolex Ambiguity Or the Ambiguity Cube or the Ambiguity Sphere or the Ambiguity Cylinder or the Ambiguity Pane or Simply the Ambiguity is a very powerful artifact. Created by the master Arcanists and former High Mage of the Golden Kingdom, Xenix Apolex, the object was originally used as a spell focus but as Apolex grew more powerful he used it to store utility spells, perfecting the previously unknown method of imbuing one object with multiple spells. He accomplished this by having the object alter shape before enchanting it. In this way the object was varied enough to allow the magic be applied. The object is said to have dozens of configurations. Those that are known include a sphere that draws coins from an unknown hoard, A cylinder that creates a portable hole, a cube that can teleport to any known location, A pyramid that can translate any written language, A dodecahedron that can manipulate chance and a flat pane that is inert. It is theorized that there is a shape that can create a teleport to the Twisted Chambers of Apolex but it has never been documented.
Like this idea! Does the shape have to relate to the spell in some way? It might be an interesting way to trick an enemy, by casting water out of a torch shape or something.
no the shape isn't really consequential. I was just jotting ideas down for what I wanted it to do and assigned them mostly randomly... although I did line the pyramid up with language because that seemed a natural fit and I guess the cylinder suited the idea of a portable hole well too. it draws inspiration from the Lament Configuration from the Hellraiser movies/book.
