Akmanov Reigns

In the far flung future of 7580, the universe is slowly becoming overpopulated, causing a variety of issues for the human race. In the Vestubla system, the powerful Empire of Akmanov has resorted to culling their surplus populations, conscripting them into the armed forces or forcing them into slavery. However, the problems the Empire faces is more than just overpopulation. For millennia, the Emperor has ruled alongside the Theocrat, the Supreme Authority on Religious affairs and the highest ranking member of the Church.   When a member of the Imperial Dynasty, Grandoloy Akmanov, becomes Theocrat, it was hoped that this tension would cease. Instead, it became worse. Grandoloy enacted a series of reforms that made the Church more militarily capable, and through a plot of intrigue they begin to conquer their own planets as part of Grandoloy’s plan to seceed from the empire and establish a theocratic government. This threatens the authority of the Emperor, so he takes preventative measures against the growing threat of Grandoloy.   However, the Akmanovs are not the only players in the galactic game of conquest. Their long-time rivals from the planet Gaia use liberty and democracy to extend their sphere of influence, and attempt to combat overpopulation by colonizing far away planets to shift population demographics. It is with this backdrop of political intrigue and diplomatic tensions that the human race finds itself in a struggle against itself to determine its place in the universe.
