Ambiance

Ambiance refers to the life energy fields, also known as auras, that surround and permeate all living things. It is the combination of Aura Manipulation (Manipulating the subtle, luminous aura radiation that surrounds a person or object) and Chi Manipulation (Manipulating the flow of one's metaphysical energy). Ambiance practitioners can consciously perceive, manipulate, and amplify Ambiance for a variety of effects.

Effect

  • Augmentation: Allows practitioners to enhance their own physical and mental abilities, amplifying speed, strength, senses, etc. Even superhuman levels of ability can be achieved at high mastery.
  • Elemency: The ability to manipulate Ambiance to the point where it takes on the characteristics and properties of elements to a spiritual degree:
Red: Earth   Orange: Ice/Snow/Water/Steam   Yellow: Fire   Green: Air/Sound   Blue: Electric/Light   Indigo: Darkness   Violet: Space-Time

  • Projection: Transforming Ambiance into physical constructs that can be directly manipulated. Everything from force fields and energy blades to constructs resembling creatures or objects. The level of detail and complexity depends on the user's mastery.
  • Conversion: The most advanced style, allowing the user to alter their aura at the molecular level. This requires an immense amount of Ambiance control and focus.
  • Cognition: Encompassing the mental aspects of Ambiance. This includes telepathy, empathy, illusions, precognition, and more. Cognition also requires significant meditation and discipline to develop proficiency.
  •

    Other Abilities

    • Retsu (Vigor): Various long-range and close-range offensive attacks using Ambiance power, including blasts, strikes, and energy manipulation. The style and lethality depend on the user's mastery.
    • Kekkai (Barrier): Creates an invisible barrier of Ambiance that covers the body and enhances the Ambassador's durability. Not completely impervious but can withstand considerable force.
    • Shiryoku (Phantom Projection): Generates ethereal manifestations from Ambiance, such as phantom limbs or spectral constructs. The number and complexity depend on the user's skill.
    • Shinobi (Concealment): Allows the user to suppress their Ambiance signature to avoid detection. Requires focus and discipline to maintain.
    • Tenkai (Expansion): Projects the user's Ambiance outward to create an expansive field of influence. The field can be shaped and composed of different elements or styles. Drains the user's Ambiance reserves over time.
    • Kōryū (Entangling Web): Allows the user to ensnare targets within their Ambiance field. The strength of restraint depends on the Ambiance invested. Escape requires breaking free or the user releasing the technique.
    • Fūyō (Ambiance Infusion): The user can infuse their Ambiance into objects, materials, or other beings to grant them certain abilities or enhance them in a particular way. The effects depend on what is infused and the user's skill.
    • Haisoku (Burst of Velocity): Allows the user to move at an accelerated pace for a brief period by channeling Ambiance into their mobility. Requires practice to sustain the effect for longer durations without exhaustion.
    • Kiken (Peril Sense): Enhances the user's senses to detect impending threats, danger, attacks, or harm through distortions in Ambiance patterns. Acts as an early warning system.
    • Chiyu (Restorative Flow): Channels Ambiance into a healing effect that strengthens the recipient's body and vitality but drains the user's Ambiance over time with repeated use.
    • Gihan (Repulsion Field): Creates a field of Ambiance that repels all matter and energy within the area of effect. Anything approaching is pushed away. Requires concentration to maintain the effect.
    • Shinkoku (Mind Reading): Allows the user to perceive the unconscious thoughts, feelings, desires, and emotions of other beings through their Ambiance signatures. Surface thoughts can also be read with practice.
    • Yūgen (Ethereal Projection): Allows the user to manifest an ethereal form using Ambiance while their physical body remains stationary. Leaves the physical form vulnerable but grants a new perspective.
    • Jikū (Timeflow): By channeling and harmonizing their Ambience, practitioners of Jikū can slow down the natural aging process, preserving their youthfulness and vitality for an extended period. This technique requires a deep understanding of Ambience's connection to the fabric of time and great control over one's life energy to maintain its effects.

    Levels of Mastery

    • Ordinary: An untrained person with little to no conscious control or mastery over their Ambiance. The ability to consciously perceive and possibly subconsciously manipulate Ambiance is limited.
    • Sufficient: An amateur user with basic training or natural talent has enough Ambiance to utilize low-level techniques without exhaustion. Can wield a few simple styles/techniques (augmentation, elemency, projection) with moderate effect. Defense and enhancive levels start here.
    • Massive: An experienced user has a deep wellspring of Ambiance to draw from, allowing for more powerful and complex uses. Can combine techniques or use them in more nuanced/synergistic ways. Has defense and enhancive aspects that can achieve noteworthy levels for non-combat purposes as well. Destructive power starts becoming a possibility.
    • Immense: A masterful practitioner at this level is considered highly skilled and powerful. Has ready access to most Ambiance techniques, or has developed highly advanced abilities of their own. Enhancements and projections can be sustained almost indefinitely without strain. Defenses are difficult to break through. Significant offensive and destructive abilities can be demonstrated.
    • Immeasurable: The most powerful scale of Ambiance access and mastery is essentially beyond normal comprehension. Nearly any feat can be achieved as long as it is within the scope of Ambiance and its fundamental principles. Masters at this unfathomable level may transcend what it means to even be a practitioner, becoming figures of myth and legend. Their true capabilities can only be guessed at.

    Side/Secondary Effects

    • If the aura nodes are blocked in any way, shape, or form, the aura cannot flow properly.
    • Excessive use will also create fatigue.
    • Requires tons of training to control Ambiance.
    • Ambiance can be sent into flux if the user’s body isn’t physically prepared.

    Manifestation

At the point when initiated, depending on the user, the Ambiance can resemble blazes, power, smoke, waves, tornadoes, as well as light.
    Gestures & Ritual
    • Hōka (Aura Overflow): Imbues the user's Ambiance with a surging vitality that strengthens their abilities but can become unstable if not mastered, potentially harming those unable to contain it. Mostly prohibited or restricted in some areas.
    • Kakusei (Ember Ignition): Allows the user's to awaken and ignite another individual's latent Ambiance abilities. This technique requires deep concentration and a precise invocation to properly guide the awakening of their dormant potential.
