The Night Forest

Located in the Northeastern corner of The Wilds, the Night Forest is where the fae of the dark and shadows dwell. It is named for the magic over the stretch of land that clouds it in eternal darkness.
The land sees no sunlight, therefore there is not a lot of greenery other than the tall trees whose branches grow together high above the ground a create a ceiling of sorts. However, there are a lot of mushrooms and other plants that do not need sunlight to thrive.
The creatures that live here are all fae or animals that do not need to rely on their eyesight, such as a race of creatures that resemble bats who travel based on sound and smell. Because food tends to be scarce in this forest, the creatures are often ravenous scavengers. Many of the fae who live in this forest take great delight in toying with a lost traveler or animal before finally killing and consuming it, usually in a violent way.
Travelers who move through this forest should be sure for their own safety to always carry a lantern with them that has plenty of oil. Traveling through the dark is a dangerous endeavor in this place, as it leaves someone who relies on eyesight very vulnerable to the attacks of any fae or predators who may be hunting nearby. Travelers may also benefit from a walking stick to feel their surroundings, or a map of the forest to try and keep track of where they are going. The best thing a traveler can do to survive, though, is travel with someone who knows the Night Forest well. That, however, does not seem like an easy thing to do as the fae who live there are generally solitary, hostile, and hungry.
