Market Street Guard Barracks

Located in the Crown City of the Northern Kingdom, the Market Street Guard Barracks is located on the corner of Market Street and Lowland Road, two blocks south of King's Avenue.
The guard barracks is a grey three story stone structure that measures roughly 40 feet wide by 120 feet in length. The main public entrance is set at the center front of the building, half a dozen steps up from the sidewalk and leads into a small entry area with a seating area and a desk at the far end. The main desk is set high enough for the guards stationed there to be able to see the entire entry area and has additional desks behind it.
A flight of steps to the left of the main desk leads to a door that opens into a short hall with the commander's offices on the left and three holding cells on the right. Beyond this area is a stairway that leads up to the second floor where the main meeting hall is located. The mess hall and kitchen are located in the basement of the building. Two more flights of stairs double back along either side of the staircase and lead up to the third floor where the main barracks and commander's private rooms are located.
The basement area of the guard house also has several cells that are in an area separate from the kitchen and mess hall, where people that will be staying longer than an evening are held pending either release or transfer to the main prison work farm or the hard labor mining facility located outside of the city.
