Fire Birds

Fire birds, otherwise known as Ave Flaminus, are directly related to the mythical Phoenix species.
These enthralling animals have a Conjure DNA, which was altered by a talented Mage to see what would happen if he tweaked some genomes in the Ave Flaminus species. On their own, without genetic interference, Ave Flaminus have brightly colored plumage and resemble a flame in motion. But this basic type no longer exists. The genetically modified version is covered in a live magical flame, which doesn't burn if you touch it.
However, if this animal gets threatened or agitated, the red and orange flames turn blue and they can cause 2nd-degree burns. They need to feel at peace and make beautiful pets. But a certain amount of caution is required.
