"On preserving the knowledge of barbaric tribes", part III: Food and eating habits

"On preserving the knowledge of barbaric tribes" is a series of books consisting of 7 parts is a product of the passion of various historians, who, as the title of the books say, wanted to preserve the knowledge about the tribes that existed during the Age of War. Most of those tribes don't exist anymore (such as Warrior Tribes of Terrivar Plains) but some are still alive and thriving. Authors of the books deeply researched their cultures and even interviewed the surviving members or their descendants.

Structure of the book

The book consists of 700 pages of text and drawn images bound in soft- or hardcover (paper or leather).
The first chapter of the book describes the culinary traditions of various cultures, differences between them and possible reasons how they were created. Here one gets to read which cultures preferred to fry their food, which pickled it or smoked it, and which ate their food mostly raw.
The next chapters focus on each of the culture/tribe and the recipes that have been preserved from the past. The authors of the books decided to even prepare said dishes and review their taste and nutritional value.

Public reaction

Out of the entire series, part III has been the most liked one. The amount of sold copies dwarfs the sum of sold copies for the other parts.
Most of the recipes described within the book are easy to make and are made out of ingredients that are easy or cheap to obtain.   In some cases, the rebirth of those dishes led to the creation of completely new ones, with some chefs specializing in and experimenting with modifying them.
