The Gods of the World

The dead gods and their legacy   “And as the tremors of battle faded, the first war was decided. The only winner was Pain, anger, motion and matter, for those were the only things to survive the clash. The gods had all died upon each other’s weapons and their bodies now littered the etheral plane of naught that spread across eternity. As their souls shattered, they spread across the nothingness that was existence and created being.   The many jewels worn by the combatants spread across the world and became stars, shining brilliantly upon the fantastic events that were to unfold. As the corpses began to rot, their stench and breath filled the void, creating air. Their flesh moulded and withered and turned to dust and dirt, while their bones faltered and crumbled and turned into rock and ore. Their blood turned into the water of the rivers and the ice and snow of the mountains.   The energy of a thousand splintering souls turned in desperation towards the decaying gods and struck like lightning at the water and the soil, first creating plants by bringing together the stout rock and malleable soil, then created the first creature by striking at the edge of soil and water, making the first creature in a vortex of mud and energy. "

I like how the names of the gods reflect their natures as cyclical and linear. Very nice touch!
