Mech-Class Archons

The whirling rings of the assembler spin around and around, stopping and starting again in the opposite direction as the armatures within hurriedly construct something within. Parts flying through the machine at blinding speeds, caught with expert precision by a mechanical claw that rotates the plate, turning it into place before tools come forth, held by more armatures, and weld the plate into place, a grinder coming from a different angle to make the seam flush and almost invisible. The machine keeps whizzing around, all components moving in mechanical perfection, a testimony to the designer of the system as it works far faster than any mortal could.   Within the confines of the rings of the machine, a figure starts to take form, a torso, two arms, two legs, a head, a tail, all constructed of aluminum, titanium, and steel. Finer parts are brought to the forming being: circuits, pistons, valves, tanks, all coming together as the outer plates are brought and put into place.   The Charr who set the process into motion enters the bay in front of the whirling machine, standing and admiring the incredible testament of engineering as it makes his order a reality. The rings of the machine slowly stop, one by one, starting from the ones in the back, until the very last ring suddenly lurches to life, picking the droid from its place on the inner conveyor belt of the machine and setting him down in front of it, between the now-still system and the Charr. Mechanical whirring of servos and pistons is heard just a moment before the silencer systems of the robot flare to life and quiet it down. Stepping up to the man, the droid simply stands there, its outer plating a muted combination of grey and navy blue, its mechanical eyes a glowing, vivid blue as it awaits its name.   The Charr Engineer speaks in his gravelly voice, "Archon Kyras."   The internal glow of the Archon flares to life as he is given his name. His head lifts up from staring at the ground to look his creator in the face as he completely comes online, then says in a smooth, realistic and deep voice. "Archon Kyras. Model Number 2 1 42113221123 13 2121112 51. Location, Forge Tacryon, Tyria." Standing a little taller now, the Archon fully activates, standing there as a completely artificial being, made of metal and plastic and a soul.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Atlan Archonis Mechanis is a mechanical creature designed originally by ancient Atlani. Designed to look mostly like their biological brethren, they have everything one might expect of Atlani, except it is only external and mechanical in nature. On the inside, they resemble any other kind of highly sophisticated droid: servos, cables, speakers, drive shafts, sensors, etc. However not all Archonis Mechanis specimens are the same on the inside. As a safety precaution, they have their soul and base consciousness contained within a Soul Matrix, usually located in the base of the neck.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Being Robotic in nature, Mech-Class Archons do not need to eat.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Their faces are usually the most cosmetically complex part of their mechanical body. It is usually a mechanical, metal analog for an Atlani face, featuring most of the facial features one might find on any Atlani. Their eyes are exceedingly complex, and have many rotating parts within them, and have a glowing center.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Archonis Mechanis use only one name and a title that describes their role, such as Steward Balrin, Helmsman Zorus, and Shipwright Milna'vehs.

Gender Ideals

Mech-Class Archons, being mechanical in nature, do not have genders and rarely identify as a specific one.

Courtship Ideals

Mech-Class Archons, being mechanical in nature, do not need to reproduce with a mate, so courtship is irrelevant to them.

Relationship Ideals

Mech-Class Archons, being mechanical in nature, do not need to reproduce with a mate, so romantic relationships are irrelevant to them.

Common Dress Code

Mech-Class Archons do not have genitalia or anything that would be covered by clothing, so they generally do not clothe themselves, and if they need armor, they will simply add it onto their existing body.

History

Mech-Class Archons are believed to have been what allowed the ancient Atlani Empire to spread as far as it did, allowing them to produce colonists, warriors, servants, scientists, really anyone that they needed, at a moment's notice. At some point during The Fall of the Atlani, a group was reactivated and their code was corrupted somehow, it is not clear how. These Archons then became a recurring problem for the Atlani, until they were all destroyed in the war.   Uncorrupted archons were recently discovered in 128 MAE, deep underneath the surface of The Black Citadel in Ascalon on Tyria, then later that year, the Arkship SAA Valerian was rediscovered in the Tyrian System, which not only contained a great number of both Mech-Class Archons and Bio-Class Archons, but was in fact an Archon itself! Towards the end of that year, the Arkship SAA Oberon was discovered in Ithari Confederation Allied Systems space. After some difficulty, that Arkship was recovered as well. At the very end of the year, another outpost on Tyria was cracked open, revealing four Archon Assemblers inside, though in a state of disrepair. After ensuring the number of archons found within were safe, which included several Bio-Class Archons, Centurion Jericho Cindergear and a team of engineers were able to bring the assemblers online and draft schematics for them, re-enabling the The Atlani United Empire's use of the artificial Atlani for use in expansion once more.
