Amatar

The capital city of the Prismatic Republic. 
With a population dominated by dragonborn, and one of the largest populations of Tieflings on the Peninsula, Amatar is considered the most colourful city on the Peninsula, literally. 
Amatar is also one of the largest cities in terms of population, and contains within it the renowned Colosseum as well as the house of the Senate - the Curia.

History

In the history of the Dragonborn, before the time of the Republic, Amatar was the only static settlement of their civilisation. The rest of the Dragonborn clans roamed the southern half of the Peninsula, coming to meet in Amatar only for trade, festivals, and debates between the leaders of the clans. At this time, the Colosseum was used as a staging ground for those debates.
When the Empire arrived, and the Clans were united to war with them, Amatar began to grow in importance. Many of the Clans left their old, sick, and children behind to go to war.
When the war was won, Amatar was taken by the Prism King as the capital of his new kingdom, opposed by the new settlement of Harricolum to the north which hosted the fledgling Republic.
When the Prism King was overthrown, the Republic moved their capital to Amatar.
