The Raven Queen

Overview:

Raven Mother, Lady of Darkness, Harbinger of Death, The Mistress of Shadows, and Soul of Sorrow. The Raven Queen is the goddess of Endings, Death, Fate, Winter, Loss, Shadow, Shadow Magic, and maintains the Shadow Weave.
It is traditionally believed The Raven Queen's primary focus is to shepherd the souls of the dead into the afterlife and watches over the Fate of the world. She is an ancient deity whose name has been lost to time.

Tenets of the Raven Queen:

• Death is the natural end of life and comes for all indiscriminately. There is no pity for the fallen. The is no shame in mourning.
• The will of Fate is sacred. Those who pridefully cast off their destiny or seek to manipulate another's must be punished.
• Undeath is an atrocity. Those who pervert the transition of the soul and the natural cycle of life and death must be eliminated.
• Death is natural, but do not take the blessing of life lightly.

The Raven Queen is universally recognized as one of the primary deities over death, at the very least the oldest. She is not widely celebrated but is well respected, whether out of devotion or fear is unclear and truthfully, she does not care.
Very few temples to the Raven Queen exist. Those that do are very solemn places indeed. Most priests work in graveyards or sections of other temples. Their primary responsibility is last rites, funerals, and offering guidance on destiny, fate, and keeping a watchful eye out for undead.
Priests of the Raven Queen would only offer to resurrect or heal in the rarest of occasions, and usually only after long deliberation and prayer for permission. They see themselves as meddling with the will of Fate, but do not disagree or discourage priests and clerics of other deities healing or resurrecting recently deceased. However, they would discourage a resurrection of a long deceased individual. Those that are brought back, they believe the Raven Queen allows for certain reasons, and there are always threads attached.
