Aeyvis

Welcome to Aeyvis, a seemingly expansive and all-encompassing world but otherwise quite average by fantasy standards. Magic exists but is tempered by abuse and overuse, nature thrives but is slowly dying out, and the gods are real but ever so slightly out of reach. (By no fault of their own, mind you -- it's just that corporeal presence is awfully taxing and reality changing, not worth the slight popularity boost and the centuries of worshipers misinterpreting your materialized moments, if they believe it's you at all).   A swirling expanse of consciousness, Aeyvis exists purely by the will of the gods and the will of the people, banding together to subconsciously form something out of the madness that is the Depthless Depth, the Unshaped - or formally, the "aether" that surrounds all planes as a murky yet too bright void. A term more commonly used is "The Outer", and many take it to mean the place just outside of the material plane where all the gods hang out and watch over people. Preliminary research indicates they may not entirely be wrong.   In the middle of the second millenium according to Imperial Record (IR), populations are growing, technology is developing and people are making names for themselves. There are many civilizations now: the old and cold human continent of Ostenhor; the wider plains and hills of Toraya; the new settlement frontier of Izera; the elven nation of Altones; the strange and ever-shifting Siwa Isles; and the harsh hinterlands of north and south. Not to mention, what lays beyond, in the planar weave...   In a world built on the wills of its people and the gods who shepherd them through, any individual could rise up and forge their destiny out of nothing.
