The pierced foot incident

After having been at war with each other ever since the Quanes decided to settle of the Isles and made claims on parts of the lands, new times have arrived. The elected leaders of the Sini thought now was the time to declare peace and get on with their lives.    Looking past old grudges and bloody wars can be hard, and for some impossible, but the Sini counsel thought it possible to make it work. Sini being the more sensible of the two cultures, knew it would be hard to make an agreement both parts would seem fit, but they were more than willing to try.   Before the meeting, Sini informed of their intentions and let the Quanes know to make ready some terms of their own to discuss at the meeting, that would take place at the border of the two countries - close to the spirit lands.

The most important meeting in Sirenti history

Hours of heated discussions were had, and terms were dropped for others, but at the time of the most heated discussion, something unforeseen happened. The Quane leaders right hand screamed up so loud everyone looked his way. He was frozen in place, not only out of shock but also his foot was suddenly pierced with a knife making him stuck to the floor.   At this exact moment, the atmosphere in the room was extremely tense and was already slowly starting to escalate when the scream broke the heated discussion. This triggered everyone pointing fingers at each other and accusations flew across the room - and it was this weird and unexplainable trigger that started a more physical discussion. First pushing, then punching and lastly, the swords came out. The meeting was raised and the now angry leaders went back to their country.    Turmoil and small fights between the locals were happening at the border, and accusations were flung everywhere. The Quanes was sure of the Sini being the ones to hit their man to make them start something that would make them look bad.    Only 4 days later it was discovered that it was the work of the spirits and that they had been played by them again. Feeling stupid and quite unamused the leaders met again and had a laugh about how easily they began accusing each other. They let it be a lesson for them to not be so quick to judge, and on this note, the meeting continued with a much more light-hearted tone.

End of discussion and war

After 3 additional days, the two leaders came upon an agreement: The borders on the mainland remains the same, only because Sini are tired of losing discussions and wars about the damn thing. Secondly, the Isle of Tuk is to be a part of Sinea again, like it originally was, and in return, the Quanes gets two more islands in their possession.    The agreement they ended up signing got the name: Peace Among Neighbors.

The Sirenti Symbol

by CatRobi
A symbol that resembles a united Sirenti and peace between the lands.   Nowadays, almost 250 years after the agreement was signed, the two countries are almost like one, only separated by cultural differences and a rather important border.
