(Thay-lum)     On the eastern hemisphere of Aetholl lies the fractured continent known as Thélum. Consisting of large islands each claimed by one of the dueling empires it is a land in turmoil...

The Last Rivalry

The Kavhorian Empire surfaced at the same time the Shan or Ikruxcean Empire did. Back then all it was, was two countries that helped each other. They grew like siblings helping the other when it stumbled. Then the Kavhorians found a deposit of minerals that allowed them to channel the natural magics of the land. They had to regulate it quickly so they formed the Council. Sha’ Osal requested to trade in the minerals, but was denied. So they began to take land an island that was half the size of their continent where they found their own minerals with help from the natives. And thus their Empire was established with the clang of hammers beat things otherworldly steel. How unfair, the Kavhorians thought. They can’t just take islands the size of our country. They sailed boats out into the sea in every direction they could find. They found three islands close and a far away exotic land. They brought the locals into their age, teaching them their ways and their customs. They taught them to hunt and kill. And thus the Kavhorian Empire was formed with the clash of training blades. The Empires were almost equal in size and military power. Each with their own specialised countries that were indoctrinated into their way of life. Everything was set for the nations to explode into a war, all they needed was the spark and what they got was a wildfire...

The Burning of Land and Lume

Some will tell you that it wasn’t the council’s intention to destroy the surface of Sha’ Osal but I think deep down we all know that it was. The council regulate all magic in the Empire and if they can’t control it why would the Emperor still let them be in charge? Now the only thing that roams the land’s surface are raiders and abominations. Those twisted forms of the creatures who were at the centre of the blast. Some they call hollow kings others they can’t give a name to because no one ever survives all that's left is the remains if you could even call them that. Either way we have to live underground. We live by Lume now. Our children don’t know what the sun looks like. Even if they went to the surface they would see the dull grey haze that covers our land and blots out the sun. The Amber city is becoming so tightly packed that we might have to start sending people out into the caves and tunnels to see if they can find anything. We’ve heard about a city not too far away one filled with gemstones, it’s where our Empress is from, although she doesn’t live in Amber with us, she’s safe in one of the noble spires. Trying to help us. I’m sure of it. It’s her job. Isn’t it...

A Catalyst of Change

In Prethos the air has become thick with a fresh new breed of smoke. Furnaces are fueled by oil taken from the titans of the sea that were once unstoppable. Now sailors venture out to capture these leviathans in hopes of a big enough catch to pay them well into retirement. But not everyone is happy that the nation has developed this new technology powered by ‘blood’ oil. The crown guard are using electrified batons and explosive rifles on commoners who don’t give them half their wage, gangs are able to create machines that fire bullets so fast they must be fed them on belts. Electrified walls have made life a nightmare for the common thief. And what about the nobles? Safe. Cozy. Atop their bloodstained manor houses, not the blood of humanoids but the blood of majestic terrors that line the seas. The world is as volatile as the new trade it has found itself relying on and only time will tell if it will all fall apart...
