The Eyes of the Mystrasi

The Eyes of the Mystrasi are said to be the legendary gifts of the Divine capable of granting the chosen of Pansophia the ability of foresight and near ultimate power of divination. It is the mark and symbol of the Mystrasi of Ankh'hera, the Great Diviner. No other artefact holds greater power in prophetic or oracular ability, supernatural senses and access to powerful spells. It is not something that can be made and has sentience of its own.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

No two of the eyes are the same, and are unique and bound to its user. The Eyes are hemachromatic, meaning that they each have a different colour. One eye has a white sclera, and its twin has a black sclera - some say to denote them to have the ability to peer into the past and the future, the latter only activating on its own accord and not from the individual will. When its power is activated, the eyes roll back and can see a translucent crystal sphere that seems to hold a swirling vortex of light, like the captured essence of a galaxy. However, this is not seen should one pluck out the eye itself - if the worst should happen, and the Eye of a Mystrasi is damaged, or wrenched from its socket, it turns into a translucent blue glass orb until it is placed once more into the socket of one's eye.   In order to use its powers, the wielder needed to remove an eye and place the artefact into the empty socket. The item then magically grafted onto its wearer's heads, assuming a new and intrinsic colouration and a mirrored pupil identical to its twin. Removing the Eye does not kill its wearer, but it blinds its second eye until its second eye is placed into a new socket - even if another person wields the second eye.

POWERS

Once attuned to the Eye of the Mystrasi, a creature changed its worldview towards a neutral disposition. The artefact granted true sight to its wearer, as well as an ability to see through solid objects - those included the risk of exhaustion in case of repeated activations. The wearer enjoyed other benefits, such as premonitions of imminent danger, and could consistently detect the magical signature of anything within sight, sense emotions, visualise poison or disease (but cannot determine exactly what poison or ailment, just know that it exists and where it is located in the body), intrinsically sense the location of animals, plants or objects (even without seeing it, but find the quickest path towards it, at a certain range).   In addition, the Eye of the Mystrasi allowed its wearer to cast: Detect Thoughts, Blindness, Augury, Beast Sense, Zone of Truth, Mind Spike, Sending, Arcane Eye, Divination, Clairvoyance, Locate Creature, Scrying, Commune, Contact Other Plane, Legend Lore, True Seeing, Eyebite, Foresight spells a limited number of times. It progressively regained its magic at every dawn. Using the artefact to cast any spells incurred a small risk of temporary blindness, or the possession of the dormant spirit of the Eye referred to as the Vision. Taking control of the wearer's body, using it as a puppet temporarily - inclined to a neutral good alignment, but has no concept of time, thus it speaks in lost or even languages yet to be developed, giving out incoherent prophecies - its meaning only specified or referring to one in particular that it involves, otherwise known as the 'Fated'.   If both eyes are separated and attuned to two different individuals, or even creatures, both wearers were intrinsically linked are were capable of seeing through one another's sight simultaneously - however, they are incapable of recognising sounds, smells, touch or taste - but the eyes within the vision of anyone speaking through a verbal or spoken manner with the sight of their lips, can be read as easily as an open page in a book.

REPUTATION

One cannot simply find the Eyes of the Mystrasi, one is chosen by the spirit of Vision - anyone of any race can be chosen and granted its powers, but the manner in how to use those powers are taught through visions of the Sphinxes. But, those who are chosen are given a choice to accept the power of the Mystrasi - whether to accept the responsibility and power but the price is to envision through their own eyes their own death. This binds them to a future to which they cannot escape, swearing an oath to the Gods themselves, especially the Raven Queen, the goddess of death. This is to ensure that their power is not abused. They will be followed for the entirety of their lives by a single spectre, a watchful spirit of death, a constant reminder that should they ever stray or seek to escape their fate, or even attempt to force their own death too soon - the spectre shall intervene and take their soul for the Raven Queen. It never interferes, it does not have any emotion or morals, its sole purpose is to watch, wait and act in the moment of death.   It was said that the only way to permanently destroy the Eyes of the Mystrasi was if both were attached to the same creature, and then that creature was slain by one who was Fate-Touched. Any other attempt to destroy either artefact merely transported it to an unknown location within the River Ississa, where it would remain dormant until the Mystrasi had died and it would choose another in its stead.
