Ahgaemos

Structure

Archon: The lord of a region and archmage. They rule their respective lands in most matters while leaving local affairs to local officials. The role passes to the most powerful mage in the family upon the passing of the previous archon.
Kyrlatos: The hands of the archon who do his bidding and perform their assigned duties. They help Archon's manage their domain and coordinate their efforts.
Epiteos: Apprentices to the mages of Ahgaemos. They study under their guidance and act as their assistants.
Lovierthos: Acolytes that serve the base (usually magical) needs of a noble house. Once their Archon has deemed them sufficient to ascend in rank, they are sent off on a journey to gather knowledge and weapons for their lord.

Culture

Ahgaemian culture is defined by the supremacy of magic. This is manifested in their ruling system of numerous noble mage houses that control varying portions of land. They hold great wealth and power, but are expected to perform social duties--such as managing judicial matters, infrastructure, and general governance, though some go so far as to work in local soup kitchens--and maintain a standing military force of at least one (specialized) squad if not entire regiments or companies.
Ahgaemian magic specializes in the realms of elementalism, necromancy, and item enchantment. The noble houses not only lean into these schools of magic for power and social status, but also play intricate and complex political games with one another, ranging from innocent fun to fatal betrayal.
Regular civilians can find themselves in any number of life situations. Many areas struggle with poverty, while many others are thriving and abundant. However, changing one's status is incredibly difficult for anyone who does not know magic. Once a citizen gains magical abilities, they are granted a wide range of rights and a chance at lordship.
