Prompt #16 an ancient or powerful artifact – Relic of Time
In Aetheria’s most ancient language it was called the Relicrea Chronusi Oracalus, the Oracle’s Relic of Time.
The strange golden box appeared and disappeared at random, but for the moment it was sitting on its platform. Dr. Daisy Cane created a way to track its unique energy so they could find it and retrieve it when it vanished, then she figured out how to anchor it to the lab by reverse-engineering its tech to make it a landing pad of sorts. They had managed to store the energy and then discovered that the energy was self-replicating in small increments as time passed. It was a battery that would recharge itself simply by sitting on the shelf, they had also discovered the power cells could not be overcharged, no matter what they did. Daisy walked up to the golden box and attached several cables to it. The alien star that floated above the box, turned to face her as if in greeting. Two lines rotated like the hands of a clock. The panels were covered the strange carvings she was still trying to translate. It was later discovered the Relic would only travel to the rotational cycle twice. The trip between times takes about 13 minutes. It has a range of several tens of thousands of years. The energy of the Relic was harvested and stored in Chronos Energy Storage Units (C.E.S.U) made of specialized heptagonal crystals which were used to create faster FTL's by bending time and Built into a temporal implosion Time-Bomb ( A bomb made of collected time energy) to be used in the event they lose the war against the Devourer called the Against Hope Device. Later, Daisy and Shadz discovered that they had already used the Against Hope in the distant past at the end of the Cataclysm War to keep the Devourer from escaping Xelusia, trapping it in slow time like a fly in amber.

Kars tried to remember why the relic would return here, the pain of remembering suddenly surged through his head and he collapsed to his knees. “It has a cloooock onnn toooop.” Ezra’s words seemed drawn out. Looking up, Kars saw the seven-sided star raise from the lid and start to spin. In slow motion, Davin place his hand on the corner of the box to push himself up, as Ezra noticed he fell and called out Kars’s name in a weirdly distorted way, then they moved backward. “Don’t touch it!” Kars shouted too late; his words slowing down as time dilated around them. Myke dragged Kars to safety with faster than human reflexes unaffected by the strange force. Only two meters away, time became normal for them again, but Davin and Ezra seemed to be moving slowly backwards to the moment Ezra reached out to touch the top. A beam shot to the top of the cavern. There was an immense flash and the dais was empty.
